Topps Unveils NCAA March Madness Basketball Card Series

Topps, a renowned name in the trading card industry, has teamed up with the NCAA to debut an exclusive March Madness Basketball Card Series. This series introduces packs of eight cards that come at a price tag of $139.99 each, promising a guaranteed autograph card from a selection of standout players. Among these players are Zach Edey from Purdue, the men’s Player of the Year, and Caitlin Clark, the women’s Player of the Year.

The eight-card pack consists of the prized autograph card, six base cards, and one rare parallel card numbered to 99 or less. These limited edition packs can be purchased through Topps’ official website until Thursday, providing enthusiasts with a chance to secure these coveted collectibles. Additionally, every ten packs will include a special treat – a dual autograph card featuring two of the featured players.

The March Madness series spotlights 20 top collegiate athletes, meticulously selected to grace the fronts of the cards. On the men’s roster, fans can find familiar names like Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham from Kentucky, Tristen Newton and Stephon Castle from UConn, and other rising stars from various universities such as Colorado, Tennessee, Purdue, Duke, Kansas, and UNC. On the women’s side, players like Cameron Brink from Stanford, Aaliyah Edwards from UConn, and Hailey Van Lith from LSU are among the notable inclusions.

Noteworthy pairings in the series include dual autograph cards like Clark/Edey, Clark/Reese, Reese/Van Lith, and Sheppard/Dillingham, which are sure to excite collectors and fans alike. However, the opportunity to feature Caitlin Clark in the Topps card series will cease on April 1 as she prepares to partake in an exclusive trading card partnership with Panini America.

This collaboration allows Topps to infuse the iconic March Madness logo and branding into their distinct card designs, offering a unique blend of NCAA spirit and collectible artistry. Fans can anticipate more joint ventures between Topps and the NCAA in the near future, promising a continuous array of innovative projects for avid collectors to enjoy.

Throughout the current season, Topps has released over 120 Bowman U cards on the Topps NOW platform, with 61 dedicated to showcasing college basketball talents like Caitlin Clark. Clark, in particular, has been prominently featured on 13 different cards, marking her as one of the most celebrated college athletes in the series. The incorporation of college players in the traditional Topps Bowman University line over the past two years has further enriched the collector’s experience, adding a vibrant touch of collegiate sports to the world of trading cards.
