CGC Cards and JSA Combine Services for Autographed Cards

A harmonious duet has just struck a chord in the world of autographed card collecting as CGC Cards™ and James Spence Authentication® (JSA®) unite to provide a one-stop solution for authentication and grading. This dynamic partnership not only simplifies the submission process but also elevates the overall experience for collectors and dealers alike.

In a harmonious melody of collaboration, the Certified Collectibles Group® (CCG®) announced the union of CGC Cards and JSA just in time for the National Sports Card Convention from July 24-28, 2024. This synchronized service, launched on July 15, covers a wide spectrum of cards, including trading card games, sports cards, and non-sports cards, catering to a diverse range of collectors.

Building on the success of the CGC x JSA certification for comics introduced in May, this integrated service marks a significant stride in the world of collectibles grading and authentication. With CCG’s acquisition of JSA earlier this year, the horizon is bright for this partnership, promising combined authentication and grading services for various collectibles, from magazines to concert posters.

As the excitement peaks for the biggest card collecting event of the year, The National, collectors can now take advantage of the CGC x JSA certification services for cards. Offering a seamless experience both at the show and through mail submissions, CGC Cards will also provide comprehensive on-site services, allowing collectors and dealers to have their cards authenticated, graded, and encapsulated in real-time.

Pioneering witnessed signature authentication in the world of comics back in 2001 with the CGC Signature Series, CGC is now set to unveil the CGC Signature Series for cards. This evolutionary step combines the expertise of CGC and the legacy of JSA, offering a comprehensive suite of services to autograph collectors.

Founded in 2005 by James Spence, Jr., JSA stands as a beacon of authenticity in the world of autograph authentication. With the world’s largest autograph database, comprising nearly 1 million images, JSA leverages cutting-edge technology and a wealth of resources to ensure accurate authentication, instilling confidence in collectors worldwide.

Autographed cards certified by CGC and JSA will bear the distinctive CGC x JSA Authentic Autograph label, standing as a hallmark of authenticity. Displaying both brand names, this label features the coveted “Authentic Autograph” designation in yellow, a nod to CGC tradition symbolizing genuine signatures. Furthermore, autograph grading is available upon request, with the grade proudly showcased on the label alongside the card’s grade and description.

For premium cards that reach the pinnacle of perfection, CGC Cards presents the prestigious gold CGC x JSA Pristine 10 label, reserved for cards that achieve a CGC Pristine 10 grade, a testament to their unparalleled condition and value.

Steven R. Eichenbaum, CEO of CCG, lauded the partnership’s significance, recognizing it as a monumental step in the company’s journey. James J. Spence, Jr., President of JSA, expressed his thrill at launching combined services at The National, fulfilling a long-standing request from collectors and marking a new chapter in autographed card authentication and grading.

To learn more about submitting cards for CGC x JSA certification, collectors can visit the CGC Cards website and utilize the convenient online submission form. By selecting “JSA Autograph Authentication” within their chosen grading tier, collectors can kickstart the process and unlock a world of possibilities. Pricing for JSA autograph authentication is tier-based, with additional CGC Cards grading fees applicable to ensure a comprehensive evaluation.

With a shared commitment to excellence and a passion for preserving collectibles’ integrity, CGC and JSA are dedicated to providing collectors with top-tier services. This innovative offering sets a new standard in the collectibles industry, promising a heightened collecting experience for enthusiasts around the globe.
